Panasonic Holdings (TYO:6752) has opened its new cylindrical lithium-ion battery factory in De Soto, Kansas, US.
The facility, spanning 300 acres, began mass-producing 2170 cells with a future target of 32 GWh annual capacity, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The expansion complements Panasonic's existing Nevada plant of 41 GWh, bringing total US production capacity to about 73 GWh.
The Kansas factory underscores Panasonic's commitment to supporting growing EV demand through its dual-region strategy in Japan and North America.
